Sand Filters replaced with a Defender Regenerative filter!
We had the pleasure of working with the local council to deliver this swimming pool refurbishment at a local leisure centre. The remit was to refurbish the existing filtration equipment with the design to have the lowest environmental footprint possible using today’s technologies. A full plantroom rip out was undertaken with the existing pump pit extended to accommodate the new pumps and header paperwork for the defender re-gen line. We replaced the existing sand filters with one Defender filter which took a cramped old plantroom into a new more spacious plantroom.
So why Defender? Exceptional water filtration along with significant water and energy savings compared to traditional sand filtration. Defender regenerative media filters maximize performance, efficiency and user friendliness while helping reduce environmental footprint – an outcome good for the planet. The ability to remove particles as small as one micron provides the clearest, cleanest, and safest aquatics environment possible. And if that’s not enough, facility operators can achieve significant savings up to the following in several key areas: Water 90%, Space 75%, Energy 50%, and Chemicals 30%.
A refurbishment well done indeed with a top specification.
